    Parents magazine and Edmunds.com, Best Family Cars of 2012, have selected the Civic Hybrid as a Best Family High-Mileage Car of 2012. Family and gas mileage are two priorities when buying a car, which means they’re our priorities too.

    The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has named the Civic Sedan Hybrid a "2012 Top Safety Pick." IIHS rates vehicles good, acceptable, marginal or poor based on performance in front and side crash tests, a rollover test, and evaluations of seat/head restraints for protection against neck injuries in rear impacts. To earn Top Safety Pick for 2012, a vehicle must have good ratings in all four Institute tests.

    For the ninth straight time, the Civic Hybrid was named one of the greenest vehicles of the year by the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE). Several other Hondas were also honored as "greener choices of 2012," making this the 14th straight year that multiple Honda vehicles have been named in the top 12.
